Position: Service Manager

Reports to: Registered Manager (Head of Operations)

Location: Head Office, Plymouth

 

Job Summary:

 As a Service Manager at Smeaton Healthcare, you will play a vital role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality care services within our organisation. Reporting to the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of care professionals, ensuring the efficient operation of services, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements under the Care Quality Commission. Your leadership, organisational skills, and passion for providing exceptional care will be instrumental in achieving our mission of delivering person-centred care to our clients.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Team Management and Leadership:

– Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of care professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

– Ensure appropriate staffing levels, support with recruitment, training, and manage performance through regular supervision and performance reviews.

– Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to staff, promoting professional development and growth.

  1. Service Delivery and Quality Assurance:

– Oversee the delivery of care services, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, policies, and best practices.

– Monitor and evaluate service provision, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans as needed.

– Conduct regular audits, inspections, and reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  1. Client and Stakeholder Management:

– Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, their families, and external stakeholders.

– Conduct client assessments, collaborate on care planning, and address any concerns or feedback promptly.

– Act as a point of contact for client and family inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues effectively.

 

  1. Operational Management:

– Assist the Registered Manager in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures.

– Monitor and manage resources effectively, including budgeting, rostering, and supply management.

– Collaborate with other departments, ensuring effective communication and coordination of services.

  1. Compliance and Regulatory Standards:

– Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and quality frameworks.

– Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, records, and reports.

– Facilitate inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions and improvements as necessary.

  1. Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

– Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.

– Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and the implementation of new ideas.

– Participate in quality improvement initiatives and drive service enhancements to meet the changing needs of clients.

Qualifications and Experience:

– Minimum of 1 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role within a healthcare or care-related organisation.

– A recognized qualification in health and social care management or a related field (desirable).

– Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards within the care sector.

– Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, staff, and stakeholders.

– Demonstrated experience in managing resources, budgets, and operational processes.

– Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
