Our Plymouth Branch rated GOOD by CQC

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated our Plymouth Branch Good in all areas, Inspection activity started on 29 March 2022 and ended on 5 April 2022.

During the inspection, CQC found that people were safe, protected and not at risk of avoidable harm.

What did people have to say?

People were cared for by staff that knew how to raise and report safeguarding concerns. Staff knew how to
report concerns externally. One staff member said, “First of all, I would report it to my office and if the office did not listen, I would report it to you (The Care Quality Commission). We have all had the safeguarding and whistle blowing policies and we have had the training”.

People felt supported by well trained staff. One person told CQC, “They all seem well trained. They “doubleup” when there is a new one to show them how to use (specific equipment)”.

Smeaton Healthcare are dedicated to providing a high quality standard of care, in order to do this we have to invest the same level of energy in to those who work the front line, our care teams.

Customers felt that we provided a Kind and Caring service, one Customer said “They are more than kind they can’t do enough for me” and “They are my guardian angels”.

“They sit and listen to you properly not like other care agencies. I go in my wheelchair up to their
office and have coffee with them. They are 200 percent”

One staff member said, “Amazing, honestly I have never worked for a company that is so open,
communicative and supportive”, The attitudes and behaviours towards us are great”, “They are there for you
no matter what and ready to help” and “it has been a breath of fresh air working for a company where you
feel valued and as part of a team like this one”.

“I am over whelmed with the response we received from CQC, I have always known the Plymouth Branch provides a very high level of care, always gone above and beyond, but now it feels different, we have the evidence to back this up. I cannot express my thanks enough to all the team, once again they have exceeded expectations – Congratulations to our team, their Customers and relatives.”
